A price far below the usual is a reason to check more closely. American ginseng is a different species, so a product built on it is not Korean red ginseng, however it is styled.<\/li>\n<li><strong>The process:<\/strong> red ginseng is fresh ginseng root that has been steamed and then dried. Our product page describes it as fresh ginseng root, grown for six years, then steamed and dried.<\/li>\n<li><strong>The origin:<\/strong> grown and made in Korea by a named maker. Words such as \u201cKorean style\u201d, \u201cKorean formula\u201d or a Korean-looking design on the front are not the same as \u201cMade in Korea\u201d with a maker\u2019s address on the back.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>A brand name helps too, but check the spelling question first: Jung Kwan Jang is the red ginseng brand of Korea Ginseng Corp., and our page notes you may also see the name Cheong Kwan Jang. These are two English spellings of the same Korean brand name, not a copy and an original.<\/p>\n<h2>What should the label show?<\/h2>\n<p>Turn the box over. A checklist, with GL Pro Core as the example:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Maker and address:<\/strong> GL Pro Core names Korea Ginseng Corp., 71 Beotkkot-gil, Daedeok-gu, Daejeon, Republic of Korea.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Root age and extract share:<\/strong> GL Pro Core lists 6-year Korean red ginseng extract (8.70%).<\/li>\n<li><strong>Ginsenosides in mg:<\/strong> a named figure, not just \u201crich in ginsenosides\u201d. GL Pro Core states 23 mg of Rg1, Rb1 and Rg3 per bottle.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Full ingredient list and nutrition panel:<\/strong> GL Pro Core lists 5 kcal and 0 g sugars per bottle.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Barcode:<\/strong> GL Pro Core carries 8800255101253. Barcodes beginning 880 are issued in South Korea, which fits a Korean product, but a barcode alone does not prove a box is genuine; it is one check among several.<\/li>\n<li><strong>A label you can read:<\/strong> GL Pro Core ships with the English label on the back.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Seal, batch and expiry date:<\/strong> the carton should be intact, with a date well ahead of when you will finish it.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>One thing that is not a warning sign: a little sediment in a liquid red ginseng drink. Our page says a little natural sediment is normal, and to shake well.<\/p>\n<h2>Why do prices vary so much?<\/h2>\n<p>Some price differences are honest. An extract jar, a box of shots, a tea and a candy hold very different amounts of ginseng, and pack size and the ginsenoside figure matter too. Whole roots are also sold in grades by size and appearance, so two \u201cred ginseng roots\u201d can be far apart in price for good reason.<\/p>\n<p>The useful comparison is like for like: same product name, same pack size, same label. When the identical box is listed far below its usual price, ask why. It may be old stock, stock that was stored badly, or not the real product. Our own GL Pro Core page puts it this way: our price is S$130 a box, and listings far below it may not be real GL Pro Core.<\/p>\n<h2>What is the risk with grey-import stock?<\/h2>\n<p>\u201cGrey import\u201d usually means stock bought in one country and resold in another outside the brand\u2019s normal route into that market. It is not automatically fake, but you lose some things you can check:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Storage:<\/strong> you cannot see how the boxes travelled or where they sat, and heat matters for herbal drinks.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Dates:<\/strong> stock near its expiry date is more likely to end up sold off cheaply.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Label:<\/strong> the pack may only have Korean text, so you cannot read the directions or the cautions.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>How do I check a seller in Singapore?<\/h2>\n<p>A few questions sort out most doubts:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Ask for a photo of the back of the box, showing the maker, the barcode and the expiry date.<\/li>\n<li>Check that the seller names itself and gives a way to contact a real person.<\/li>\n<li>Ask whether the stock ships from Singapore, and how quickly.<\/li>\n<li>When the parcel arrives, compare the box with the label photos on the product page, check the seal, and do not start a box you are unsure about.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>For our own store: every box of GL Pro Core is genuine Jung Kwan Jang stock, made in Korea by Korea Ginseng Corp. and shipped in its original box. Orders placed before 3pm, Monday to Saturday, ship the same day by express courier, and a real advisor answers on Messenger, in English or Chinese, if you want to ask before you buy.<\/p>\n<h2>Frequently asked questions<\/h2>\n<p><strong>Is Cheong Kwan Jang a copy of Jung Kwan Jang?<\/strong> No. They are two spellings of the same Korean brand name; Jung Kwan Jang is the red ginseng brand of Korea Ginseng Corp.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Does a barcode starting with 880 prove it is original?<\/strong> No. It fits a Korean product, but check the maker, the label and the seal as well.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Is sediment in a red ginseng drink a bad sign?<\/strong> Not on its own. Our GL Pro Core page says harmless sediment may occur, and to shake well.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What should I do if I doubt a box I bought?<\/strong> Do not drink it.
