Each box holds 30 sachets (15 Prune and 15 White Peach), and our page describes it as mixed soluble wheat fibre with konjac and prune essence; you mix one sachet with water 30 minutes after dinner or before sleep, and drink plenty of water. Each flavour carries its own gluten-free certificate, and our page says comfort and regularity usually settle within the first week or two. Check with your doctor first if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, taking medication or have coeliac disease — see Kuro Kosen on our Singapore store.
We sell Kuro Kosen in Singapore, so this is a seller’s review written to be useful rather than flattering, using only what our Singapore product page states.

What is Kuro Kosen?
Kuro Kosen is a soluble-fibre drink from the ZENSO range: a sachet you mix with water, once a day. Our page is direct about it: “It is a fibre supplement.” Asked “Can I take it without ZENSO Advance?”, the page answers yes, and says Kosen stands on its own and is a reasonable place to start. It is also part of ZENSO Pro, which has 2× Kuro Kosen built in.
What is in each sachet?
Our page describes Kuro Kosen as mixed soluble wheat fibre with konjac and prune essence. The soluble wheat fibre is a branded ingredient, Nutrallax®, and the konjac is konjac glucomannan.
Every box holds both flavours. The Prune sachets carry prune extract alongside the fibre base, while White Peach is the same fibre base in a lighter profile. On taste, Prune is deeper and slightly tart; White Peach is lighter and floral. Despite the word “wheat”, each flavour carries its own third-party gluten-free certificate (more in the FAQ below). If you have allergies, read the box label before you start.
How do you take Kuro Kosen, and how long does a box last?
The directions on our page: one sachet a day, mixed with water, 30 minutes after dinner or before sleep. Both flavours dissolve in water and are best served chilled, and you can alternate them however you like.
Start with plenty of water. It is a soluble fibre, and the page says it works better the more you drink. At one sachet a day, a box of 30 lasts a month. Our price is S$125 for one box.
Is it a laxative? Side effects and who should check first
No, it is not a laxative. Our page states that it contains no stimulant laxative: soluble fibre draws water and supports comfortable regularity, which is a different mechanism from forcing a bowel movement.
Our product page does not list specific side effects. It does say who should check first:
- Pregnant or breastfeeding: check with your doctor first.
- Taking medication: check with your doctor first.
- Coeliac disease: even with a gluten-free certificate for each flavour, check with your doctor before starting.
If you feel discomfort that does not settle, stop taking it and see a doctor. If you have ongoing digestive symptoms, such as persistent pain, a lasting change in bowel habits or blood in your stool, see a doctor rather than relying on any supplement.
Can you take Kuro Kosen with SPIRO Plus or ZENSO Advance?
With ZENSO Advance: yes. Our page says they are designed to run together: Advance covers the morning and pre-meal windows, and Kosen takes the night window. You do not need Advance to take Kosen, though.
With SPIRO Plus: searches for “spiro kosen” usually mean this pairing, and the answer is yes. Our SPIRO Plus product page says it pairs well with probiotics, vitamins and fibre, and Kuro Kosen is a fibre supplement; follow each product’s own directions. If you take prescription medication, the SPIRO Plus page asks you to leave about an hour’s gap, and to check with your doctor if you are pregnant, nursing or managing a condition; a pharmacist can help you time both around your medicine. For what SPIRO Plus itself is designed to do, read Does SPIRO Plus really work? An honest look.
What to expect, and when
Our page says digestive comfort and regularity usually settle within the first week or two. Individual results vary. Kuro Kosen is a fibre supplement for comfort and regularity; we make no promise about weight.
Our verdict as the seller: Kuro Kosen does one job and makes it easy, with both flavours in one box, one sachet a day and a gluten-free certificate for each flavour. It is manufactured in a GMP-certified facility, every batch is third-party tested (including heavy metals and a 365-substance drug screen, per flavour), and each box carries an anti-counterfeit QR code you can verify on our Verify My Product page. The trade-offs: you need to drink plenty of water, and it is a daily habit, not a quick fix.
