Be careful with a price far below the usual: such stock may be old, repacked or not genuine. For Jung Kwan Jang GL Pro Core, every genuine box carries the barcode 8800255101253 on the back, and every box we sell is original stock made in Korea by Korea Ginseng Corp., in its factory seal: see GL Pro Core on our Malaysia store.
We sell GL Pro Core, so we will not call anyone else’s stock fake. This guide covers only what you can check yourself on any Korean red ginseng box. There are no star ratings or customer quotes here.
How do I know Korean red ginseng is original (ginseng merah Korea asli)?
“Original” means three things: it really is red ginseng (Panax ginseng, steamed and dried), it really comes from the maker on the box, and it has reached you in good condition. No single sign proves all three, so check several together:
- The seller: can they name the maker and show the full label, front and back, before you pay?
- The box: origin, maker, ingredients, ginsenoside content and expiry are all printed, not handwritten or covered by stickers.
- The seal: factory shrink-wrap or seal intact, with no signs of re-gluing.
- The price: in line with what the product normally sells for.
What should the box show?

- Korean origin and the maker: the manufacturer’s name and address in Korea, and the words Made in Korea.
- Root age: premium Korean red ginseng usually states the root age; 6-year roots are the classic choice.
- Ginsenoside content: milligrams per serving, ideally with the ginsenosides named (for example Rg1, Rb1, Rg3).
- A full ingredient list showing how much red ginseng extract is inside.
- Batch and expiry dates printed clearly and matching on the box and the bottles.
- A local label or sticker: imported food sold in Malaysia often carries a sticker in Bahasa Malaysia or English naming the local importer or distributor.
Why are some listings much cheaper?
A lower price does not always mean a fake, but it is the most common warning sign. Typical reasons are stock close to its expiry date, stock that has spent weeks in hot containers or warehouses, boxes that were opened and repacked into smaller lots, grey imports brought in for another market, and products that are simply not what the label says. Our own page puts it plainly for GL Pro Core: our price is RM389 a box, and listings far below it may be old, repacked or not real GL Pro Core.
How do you spot fake or doubtful red ginseng products?
- Spelling mistakes, blurry printing or colours that look different from the maker’s own product photos.
- A seal that is loose, torn, doubled or missing, or bottles that do not match each other.
- No maker’s address, no ginsenoside figure, or an expiry date printed on a sticker over another date.
- A barcode that does not match the product. Barcodes that start with 880 are registered in Korea, but a barcode can be copied, so use it as one check among several, never as proof on its own.
- Big promises: a red ginseng product that claims to fix a disease is a reason to walk away, whatever the price.
One thing that is not a warning sign for GL Pro Core: our page notes that harmless sediment may form, so you just shake the bottle well.
How to check GL Pro Core is genuine sealed stock
GL Pro Core is Jung Kwan Jang’s ready-to-drink Korean red ginseng shot with banaba leaf and bitter melon. Jung Kwan Jang is the red ginseng brand of Korea Ginseng Corp., also written Cheong Kwan Jang (正官庄). Here is what a genuine box shows:
- Barcode: 8800255101253 on the back of every genuine box.
- Maker: Korea Ginseng Corp. (Jung Kwan Jang), Daejeon, Republic of Korea. Made in Korea.
- Pack: 21 bottles x 25 ml a box (3 weeks).
- Per bottle (Korean label): 5 kcal; carbohydrate 4 g; sugars 0 g; allulose 3 g; sodium 0 mg; ginsenosides Rg1 + Rb1 + Rg3 23 mg.
- Ingredients: purified water, allulose, Korean red ginseng extract (8.70%), cyclodextrin, natural flavour (fruits), stevia, resistant maltodextrin, banaba leaf extract (0.01%), bitter melon extract (0.01%).
Our page adds that it is made in Korea by Korea Ginseng Corp. under GMP, HACCP and ISO, traced from farm to bottle. Every box we sell is original Jung Kwan Jang stock in its factory seal, delivered free across Malaysia, usually in 1-3 working days.
What should a genuine product promise, and what should it not?
A genuine label tells you how to take it and who should be careful. For GL Pro Core that means one bottle a day, after a meal, for adults 18 and above. Ask your doctor first if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, taking medicine for blood sugar or blood thinners, or have a kidney condition. What our page does say it is for: its red ginseng, KGC05pg, is recognised in Korea by the MFDS for blood sugar, and bitter melon helps keep blood sugar steady after meals. It is still a drink, not a medicine.
