Colostrum supplements use bovine (cow’s) colostrum, pasteurised and dried into a powder, capsule or chewable, and are taken as everyday immune support; they are a food, not a medicine, and research in people is still mixed. For children above 2, KidAOne gives 600 mg ColostrumOne™ colostrum (25% IgG), 100 mg ElderCraft® black elderberry extract and 100 mg PUREWAY-C® vitamin C in 2 cocoa-and-berry chewables a day. Our price is RM189 for 60 chewables (30 days): see KidAOne on our Malaysia store.
This guide is about cow’s colostrum supplements; for questions about your own breast-milk colostrum, ask your midwife, doctor or a lactation consultant. We sell KidAOne, a children’s colostrum chewable, so we answer the general questions first. There are no star ratings or customer quotes here.

What is colostrum, and how is bovine colostrum different from breast-milk colostrum?
Every mammal makes colostrum (kolostrum in Malay) in the first days after birth. Human colostrum is made for a human newborn and is especially rich in the antibody IgA. Bovine colostrum comes from cows in the first days after calving and is especially rich in IgG. When people talk about “colostrum milk” or “colostrum milk powder”, they nearly always mean bovine colostrum dried into a powder.

Colostrum powder is not a substitute for breast milk or infant formula, and should not be given to babies in place of either. Quality depends on how early the colostrum is collected and how gently it is processed. KidAOne’s ColostrumOne™ is first-milking bovine colostrum from US Grade A dairies, collected within 24 hours of calving, pasteurised and dried at low temperature to keep its IgG, lactoferrin and other immune components.
What does colostrum do for humans? What is IgG?
IgG (immunoglobulin G) is the most common type of antibody: a protein the immune system uses to recognise germs. Labels state an IgG percentage as a quality measure; compare the amount per serving, not just the headline. Colostrum also carries lactoferrin, lysozyme and other proteins.
When you drink colostrum, these proteins act mainly in the gut, which is why colostrum is usually discussed for immune and digestive support. KidAOne’s page puts it this way: its three branded ingredients work together for everyday immune support, healthy digestion and energy to play and learn.
Do colostrum supplements really work?
Research has looked at bovine colostrum for immune and gut support in adults, athletes and children, with mixed results: studies are small and use very different amounts. A fair expectation is everyday nutritional support alongside good sleep, food, active play and the vaccinations your doctor recommends, not a replacement for medical care. If your child is often unwell, see a doctor.
KidAOne’s own page says the same: results vary from child to child.
How do you take colostrum, and how much?
Colostrum comes as powder, capsules and chewables. Powders are usually stirred into a cool or warm drink rather than boiling water, because heat can affect proteins such as IgG. Amounts differ widely between products and there is no official daily intake, so follow your label.
Avoid raw colostrum: unpasteurised milk products can carry harmful bacteria, which matters most for children and pregnant women. Choose a pasteurised product.
KidAOne: 2 chewable tablets a day, after meals; your child chews each one before swallowing. One bottle holds 60 chewables, which lasts 30 days.
Is colostrum safe? Side effects and who should check first
- Milk allergy: colostrum is a milk ingredient. KidAOne contains bovine colostrum, so ask your doctor first if your child has a milk allergy.
- Lactose: colostrum contains some lactose, which can upset a sensitive tummy.
- Medical condition or medication: ask your doctor before use.
- Pregnant or breastfeeding and thinking of an adult colostrum product: ask your doctor first.
- Young children: KidAOne is for children above 2 years old who can chew tablets, under a parent’s guidance.
If anything does not agree with your child, stop and speak to your doctor.
Is colostrum halal?
Cow’s milk is halal, but a colostrum product’s status also depends on processing, added ingredients and capsule shells, which can be gelatin. Look for JAKIM certification. KidAOne is certified halal by JAKIM; Halvec Laboratories, a JAKIM panel laboratory, detected no porcine DNA, Bio Synergy Laboratories found no heavy metals and no harmful microbes, and MyCO2 found no preservatives.
Colostrum for kids: what to look for in a kids’ immune supplement
- An age on the label, and a format your child can manage.
- The colostrum amount and its IgG percentage per serving.
- Every other active listed with its amount.
- A clear allergen statement (milk).
- Halal certification and lab reports you can see.
- Sealed, genuine stock.
KidAOne gives 600 mg colostrum (25% IgG), 100 mg black elderberry and 100 mg vitamin C per serving; vitamin C supports the normal function of the immune system. Austrian black elderberries in the ElderCraft® extract are rich in anthocyanins. Most kids like the cocoa and berry taste.
